It felt like an apocalpyse last night with constant lightnings ripping apart the twilight, and a waterfall pelting down on Singapore. What a stormy wake to a new week.
Took this photo as I was nearing my office because I thought about how wonderful it was that this frail tree remained standing against the hellish weather. When our roots are deep, even if we appear weak, we can stay withstand bad times while bigger, stronger trees topple around us.
So what’s the moral of the story this sight has for me? Big trees catch more wind (树大招风) and may fall faster if their roots are not holding on to the right places while a skinny tree may not be all bad because it can slice through the winds!
