No happy mother’s day for the mum of these dead pigeon chicks. Came across them on the pavement while walking to work and the ghastly sight kinda shocked me. My first thought was how did they end up here in such a horrible state? The chicks looked like they died from being slowly stepped on till their guts spewed out.
They weren’t totally flattened so it can’t be the doing of a heavy vehicle. They were found on a raised pavement not accessible to vehicles anyway. And the poor chicks couldn’t have been bought already dead from our local markets because they don’t sell such young fowls. Which meant that they must’ve been alive when something, or someone, crushed them to death.
The chick on the left seemed to have died such an agonising death that its beak was forever torn open in a silent scream for help… for justice.
Rest in eternal peace little birdies.
