The Gleeful Geek

Friends find it hard to believe whenever I tell them I’m an ex-geek. I grew up being a stick figure with Coke bottles for glasses. And leisure for me was reading the dictionary. I’m not kidding.

All set for the Sexy Gleek Party!

Although I’ve gone through quite a bit of transformation over the years, if I may say so myself, I’m still a geek at heart. Always uncomfortable in the company of the ‘cool’ crowd, my geekness is defined by my persistence with passé ideals such as monogamy, faithfulness and having hope.

That’s why I love the Glee series so much. The show made it cool to be geeky through it’s messages about accepting who we are and not let what we try to be bury our talents and true potential. A winner is someone who has the courage to embrace the inner loser!

Confession of an ex-geek : "Transformation is about reaching the better version of oneself and not about becoming someone else."

As I eagerly anticipate tonight’s unofficial Sexy Gleek Party to celebrate the Glee 3D Concert Movie, I recounted my moments of personal bravery. The Gleek dress-up being one of them. This is the first time I have such a wild hair-cut and wearing a low-cut top to a party!

Hope whatever little cleavage that I have won’t catch a cold.
